    Jan-Peter Kleinhans is director of the project IT Security in the Internet of Things (IoT). Currently his work focuses on the intersection of global semiconductor supply chains, IT security and geopolitics. He has a special interest in the security and resilience of our future mobile networks – 5G.After joining SNV in 2014 Jan-Peter analyzed why the market failed to produce reasonably trustworthy consumer IoT devices. He explored if and how standardization, certification and market surveillance can create economic incentives for IoT manufacturers to produce secure and trustworthy IoT devices.Jan-Peter presented his work on 5G security at the German parliament's committee on foreign affairs, the NATO parliamentary assembly and at the United Nations. He is Fellow of the Transatlantic Digital Debates 2016 and studied communication sciences in Uppsala, Sweden and business informatics in Darmstadt.
